Vietnam is the 13th biggest mango producer in the world

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, mangoes are one of the main tropical fruits grown in Vietnam. Vietnam is the 13th biggest mango producer in the world with a total planted area of over 87,000 hectares nationwide; By 2020, Vietnam’s total mango production reached 893.2 thousand tons, an increase of 6.5% over the same period last year. Mangoes are grown the most in the Mekong Delta, accounting for about 48% of the total mango area of the country.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will create a connection and exchange channel between producers, cooperatives, and enterprises participating in the development of the mango value chain with international trade agencies and enterprises in Vietnam to explore and develop export markets, to guide and disseminate regulations on plant quarantine, food quality control and safety, levels of plant protection drug residues and traceability, to disseminate information to localities, producers, cooperatives, packaging establishments, mango exporting and processing enterprises to grasp technical difficulties and barriers; to support mango-producing regions, enterprises to improve compliance capacity, develop mango value chains, increase added value, meet regulations of each market, focus on key markets such as the United States , EU, China, Korea, Japan…
